How I met RAVI!!!
4:08 PM 3/17/2020
Do you know what is this, this is pressure, positive pressure. My laptops clock is constantly looking at me and asking me again and again, assignment kab likhega (when will you write your assignment)?
Now, I am sure many of you are under this same pressure but this feeling is different, very different. Remember the college days before entering the exam hall, we use to feel tremendous pressure, rather I would call it fear. I have mostly associated pressure with fear.
This is the first time when I am experiencing joy with pressure and I believe there are many who must be feeling the same. It is kind of a paradigm shift, conventional definition of pressure that I was carrying with me has changed.
Pressure + Fun = Challenge
Thanks to Deepak Kanakraju from digitaldeepak.com for coming up with brilliant idea of Internship where you can rewarded for your work instead of punishment. What if we can incorporate this in our school system, we can actual bring revolution.
Anyways, enough of gyan. I am sure you are looking for something more sophisticated, so what is this article all about. This article is a part of assignment 2 where interns have to write about what they learned about customer avatar and how did we find our ideal customer avatar. This post is going to be little longer because I have so much interesting stuffs to share. By the way, I am Gagan Thakur, a software engineer 9 to 5 and an Entrepreneur 24*7. You can know more about me on www.g-compilations.com
I know you are not like me but I easily get distracted, so thought of sharing this what Deepak shared with us at the very beginning of class.

So, do I have your attention now, I believe yes.
We are living in a time of abundance, in this time, the more you give, the more you teach, the more you learn. That’s the Mantra of Deepak’s success.

The greatest mistake a man can ever make is to be afraid of making one.
-Elbert Hubbard
This was one of the major takeaway from class 2, if you stopped reading here and just take this point with you. I would feel it’s worth writing this post.
Don’t be afraid of getting things done, because getting things done are more important than getting things done perfectly. Perfection will come with practice, as long as you are doing something which is creating value for other person, you should do more of it and eventually perfection will come.
-Deepak Kanakaraju
Have you ever felt you are not able to connect with others? I believe, we often feel this. Do you know why, keep reading….
Be Authentic
People are tired of fake people who just shows their reel life not real life. Everyone is attracted to someone real.
Does being authentic helps with marketing?
BTW, what the hack is marketing?
Marketing is all about having good conversation. If you cannot converse well 1:1, you cannot converse well 1:many.
How to become a better marketer then?
People with more life experience are better marketers.
- Travel more
- Learn new language.
- Do new things all the time
Don’t let online negativity impact you. Believe you are awesome, have this mindset.
When you write, just write for one person, the easiest way is , write it in the format of an email. But, how do I find that one person, that’s what we are going to discuss next.
PS: Really interesting stuff ahead

So, what we are going to do now is finding our customer avatar. My precious :)
For defining the target customer, we need to know his/her Demographics (age, location, annual CTC, marital status etc) and Psychographics (their interest, likes, fears etc).
Let’s do this, this is how I found Ravi, my customer avatar.
- I created a google form and shared it crazily on whatsapp, facebook, telegram etc
- I had a target to at least collect 50 responses, I collected 69.

3. This is the work that goes behind the post :P

After almost 4 hours of work, I finally found Ravi. He is 30 years old, lives in Pune, have a decent job with a salary of 7 Lac.
He feels health is important but doesn’t have much awareness about it.
He doesn’t pay much attention to eating healthy and because of busy schedule, could not do any physical activity.
He does not take any supplements but willing to invest money towards his health.
As you can guess, my niche is health and wellness.
Let me know if you are someone who resembles Ravi in the comment section.
Some Nuggets that Deepak shared in class 2 which are worth mentioning.
- You should not start a new conversation. You should join the conversation which the prospect already had in his mind. (Like I know Ravi is willing to know how can he pay more attention to his health, so I can write a post on his requirement which he can relate to easily)
- Email and Webinar are best way to talk to your ideal customer directly.
- Write a post where title will lead reader to first sentence, than second sentence and so on… Btw, did you feel so while reading this post, please let me know :)
- Address people by their first name
- When you write email, write like you write to a friend.
- They should feel they already know you.
Focus on the center, not on the boarders.
Write for your customer avatar, don’t try to address everyone. Remember, if everyone is your audience than no one is your audience.
Awkwardness is an indicator of learning.
Thanks for reading Ravi :) I hope you felt I was talking to you only. You can read my another post here.
Cheers!!!
